Hunt for the legendary black chili of Burma (Parts 1 & 2)
January 3, 2014 - English Videos
Shan State, Myanmar
Legend has it that a black chili grows deep in the mountains of Shan State, Myanmar. The fruit is so strong that when Western missionaries first encountered it they nicknamed it "the Devil's pepper" and burned down many of the existing plantations.
Rumor has it that a small village deep within the mountains still grows this chili. After 3 days of arduous hiking, we tracked down said village (exact GPS coordinates will not be provided) and tasted this famed spice.
